Sheriff Blake Jenkins is shocked when he sees how much Dr. Steele resembles their victim. Naturally, his first response was to think that there had been no crime committed after all; she's quite a "dead ringer". Factor in the confusing details of their separate adoptions, and the leads nearly vanish into thin air. But Emory doesn't vanish, leaving Blake rather sure that he could get used to seeing her face on a daily basis. Unfortunately, they both have a lot of weighty baggage in their pasts, not to mention, they live and work in two different cities.
Susan Sleeman has waved her magic wand of intrigue once again; there was absolutely no way to figure out this ending from the very beginning! This new series has gotten off to quite an impressive start. - Oh my goodness what a GREAT book!!!! I started reading the book after church Sunday and finished reading it at 1030p the same evening! The story holds your attention from the first sentence and keeps you spellbound til the end! I love that the Blackwell team made an appearance and how God is very much the main unseen characters. One of the great things about this book is that it is extremely suspenseful and exciting, but at the same time never loses the fact that we need God in every event of our lives....especially when all things seem lost or helpless - that’s the best time to call on Him!! This is definitely a must read!!
- What a great start for the new series ! After reading all of the Blackwell series I knew I'd be looking for more stories with the close community feel of working towards a goal together . I am so happy to find the great Blackwell group in the background and especially to have Blake as a main focus. The sheriff has been a favorite for me and I wondered what it would take to draw him out. His story has been double the mystery, suspense and romance ! Enjoyed reading from first page to the last!
- I loved the Cold Harbor series and this book 1 of the Truth Seekers series is also a wonderful read. I like that some of the Cold Harbor characters are included in this book. It's a book you just cannot put down and holds your interest from the beginning to the end. A must read! Can't wait for book 2.
- Susan has yet to disappoint me with the stories she has presented. This series follows the Cold Harbour crew as they find more twists and turns! Know at the beginning you will find it hard to put this book down for your life activities!
- Loved that the author is continuing with a new series of the Cold Harbor, OR area and is including characters from the Blackwell group. I loved that series and am thrilled we are staying linked to that area with another main group of characters connected to the earlier series. Great story. Great suspense and romance.
